Brazil knocks South Korea out of World Cup

Brazil beat South Korea 4-1 in the pre-quarterfinal match of the FIFA World Cup. Brazil will now face Croatia in the quarter-finals. Croatia beat Japan 3–1 in a penalty shootout in the round of 16.

Brazil took a 4-0 lead in the first half itself, which proved impossible for Korea to match. Vinicius Junior opened Brazil’s account in the seventh minute of the match. He scored a great goal. After this, Neymar scored a penalty in the 13th minute. In the 29th minute, Richarlison scored an excellent goal in a set piece. It is also being called the goal of the tournament. At the same time, Lucas Paqueta scored a goal in the 36th minute to give Brazil a 4-0 lead.

However, in the second half, the Korean team tried hard to come back, but they could not get past the Brazilian defense and goalkeeper Alisson. South Korea scored their only goal of the match in the 76th minute. This goal was scored by Paik Seung Ho. After this both the teams could not score any goal till full time.

Brazil scored four goals in the first half for the second time. Earlier, Brazil did this in 1954 against Mexico. Brazil is the first team since 2014 to score four goals in the first half of a World Cup knockout. Germany scored four goals in the first half in the 2014 World Cup semi-final against Brazil.
